Presentation Title: Water-free! – A biocide-free colorant concept
Presentation Abstract: Water is the source of life – but life in pigment pastes and paints is undesirable, as are biocides, which have fallen into disrepute. What is feasible in factory tinting is very challenging in POS tinting due to restrictive biocide regulations and can usually only be solved at great expense.
The water-free paste concept developed by CLiQ is based on a patented combination of a special carrier material with wetting and dispersing agents specially developed for this area of application. The absence of water means that infestation can be effectively eliminated without the need for biocides. The great advantage of this concept is that it can be seamlessly integrated into the existing periphery. The presentation describes the formulation of the pigment pastes and shows the advantages and disadvantages of the concept.
